About the Boundaries: InteliMap's Electric & Gas Boundaries match U.S. zip codes to electric and gas providers.  Each zip code is assigned a primary energy supplier as well as multiple secondary suppliers.  In total, InteliMap identifies zip code territories for approximately 2,300 electric companies, 1,500 gas companies and 800 electric cooperative boundaries.  Each investor owned electric utility is linked to its respective Holding Company.  The Boundaries are then appended with Department of Energy information including rates, sales, volumes etc...  Additionally, the Electric Boundaries are matched to EPA eGRID subregions including all associated carbon emissions factors.

CO2 Emissions: The EPA, large lighting manufacturers, non profit environmental organizations and energy services companies utilize the Boundaries (matched with eGRID emission factors) to calculate CO2 emissions nationwide by utility service area and E-Grid subregion.  Specifically, the Boundaries allows users to apply the eGRID emissions factors down to an individual zip code.  The Boundaries are also a key factor in determining payback of lighting retrofits, from a single site to multiple locations.  

Web Sites: Energy retailers utilize the Electric & Gas Boundaries on their websites to help them identify energy choice eligibility by user and to determine which programs the user is qualified to participate in. In other words, it eases the way for customers to switch from their current gas or electric provider to the services offered by InteliMap's customer.

B2B - Consumer Lists:   Energy companies save money by changing their mail campaigns  from state wide mailings to purchasing leads by individual service area.  For instance, an electric energy retailer in New York can trim its mailing from several million pieces to just under 161k records (representing all businesses that fall within Niagara Mohawk's territory). The retailer can further reduce the list by employee count, SIC Code, market segment and natural gas supplier. 

Customer Satisfaction Surveys: In the era of energy deregulation customer satisfaction plays a key role in ensuring corporate financial success.  The InteliMap Boundaries play an important part by supporting customer satisfaction surveys.  The boundaries (matched with B2B & Consumer lists) provide lists of survey respondents by utility company, thus our clients can compare their performance to that of their competition.
