Swimming Boating Fishing off Dock |
Clamming Lounging About |
| Swimming At high tide there is 9 to 12 feet of water off the dock. Between high and low tides a sandbar will appear making for good swimming in shallower water – great for kids. At low tide there is a small beach where you can also swim, lounge or play in the sand. Of course, there is also the private portion of Wingersheek Beach which is only minutes away by boat ![]() water polo - mid tide |

Fishing Fish right off the dock to catch stripers. Last several years, we caught 24 stripers in an afternoon. Best time to fish is June and late August & Sept. Grab a canoe or kayak and fish either the Annisquam or Goose Cove. Please don’t hesitate to call for tips on how to fish off the dock. You can get bait at Winchesters of Washington St - Directions to Winchesters ![]() Return to top |

Clamming
If you have the appropriate license, you can dig for steamers at low tide or across the water where beaches form at low tide. You can also snoop around for surf clams across the river – these make excellent chowder. Or, at high tide you can throw in a crab trap and, depending on the season, catch crabs. Most are too small to eat but it’s a great activity for the kids and will keep them occupied for some time. Return to top |
