Swimming At high tide there is 9 to 12 feet of water off the dock. Between high and low tides a sandbar will appear making for good swimming in shallower water – great for kids. At low tide there is a small beach where you can also swim, lounge or play in the sand. Of course, there is also the private portion of Wingersheek Beach which is only minutes away by boat Return to top Boating The property comes with a canoe (not shown), a single and two person kayak. These are perfect for family outings to the beaches or for exploring the rivers and marshes across from the house. Feeling adventurous? Then head toward the open ocean. or boat to Annisquam Village and eat breakfast/ lunch at a restaurant right on the water or purchase fresh fish from the market. Return to top Fishing Fish right off the dock to catch stripers. Last year, our record was 24 in an afternoon with 3 fish topping the 30+ inches. Grab a canoe or kayak and fish either the Annisquam or Goose Cove. Please don’t hesitate to call for tips on how to fish off the dock and where to buy bait. Return to top Clamming If you have the appropriate license, you can dig for steamers at low tide or across the water where beaches form at low tide. You can also snoop around for surf clams across the river – these make excellent chowder. Or, at high tide you can throw in a crab trap and, depending on the season, catch crabs. Most are too small to eat but it’s a great activity for the kids and will keep them occupied for some time. Return to top Lounging About: Yacht and Wildlife Watching We have two large decks and plenty of chairs for relaxing. The Upper deck has awnings so you can enjoy the view in the shade. The lower deck is plus size and sits right on the water’s edge. Watch large yachts or fishing vessels stream past or enjoy the wildlife. Grab a cup of coffee or a cold beer and sit back and relax. |
